Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is the Netherlands’ oldest and largest technical university. Its education and research span engineering, science and design across eight faculties. Within electrical engineering, TU Delft develops advanced materials, microelectronics, RF and millimetre-wave circuits, antennas, radar sensing and electromagnetic modelling, combining fundamental research with application-driven innovation.

Relevant applications

Next-generation MRI; advanced radar systems; wireless communications; RF components and packaging.

Contribution to POLARIS

TU Delft contributes research across materials, microelectronics and RF systems. POLARIS lists three TU Delft projects: VSWR-resilient high-power digital signal generation for MRI and radar; multifunctional nanomaterials for cooling and RF shielding; and efficient electromagnetic modelling of integrated antenna arrays. Sten Vollebregt leads the POLARIS Material Technology theme, while TU Delft researchers also contribute technical advice. This connects fundamental research in materials and modelling with RF-system performance and application needs.
